Heavenly Father, your great light has shined down on us through Epiphany; now we find ourselves in the shadows of Lent. Here we kneel in introspection, abiding in your word and allowing your Scriptures to speak. We confess that we have been seduced by temptation, and we seek your forgiveness. Firm our resolve to remember your promises: to deliver and protect us, to answer us and be with us, indeed to honor us. We give you our best, reverently returning praise to our Creator. Amen.
