It has shone through worship and prayer, through meals shared and friendships formed, through children learning the stories of faith, neighbors being served, strangers becoming friends, and people showing up for one another when life gets hard.
And now, we get to carry that light forward.
In Deuteronomy 11, God tells the people to take his words into their hearts and pass them on—to talk about them at home, along the way, and with the generations that follow. Faith is something we receive, but it is also something we are invited to live and share.
And in Matthew 5, Jesus tells his followers, “You are the light of the world.”
Not just the people who came before us. Not just pastors or church leaders or people who feel like they have faith all figured out.
All of us are invited to shine.
As we celebrate 60 years at CCoS, we are grateful for every person who helped carry the light this far. But we’re also excited about what comes next—because God is still writing this story.
There are new friendships to form. New neighbors to love. New generations to encourage. New ways to serve our community. New questions to explore together. And new people who will become part of this story.
Maybe even you.
You don’t have to know all the answers. You don’t have to have everything figured out. There is room to come, learn, grow, serve, and discover with us what it means to follow Jesus and shine his light in the world.
Sixty years of shining is worth celebrating.
And we’d love for you to be part of what shines next.
