Dear Sisters and Brothers of the Covenant Church of Schaumburg,
The Executive Committee, after reviewing all the news, requests from our civic leaders, other church’s decisions and the Central Conference and their responses to the Covid-19 has recommended to the Board that we cancel or postpone all in-person events and meetings until further notice. The Board concurred as this is a decision for the care of each other and the community in which we minister.
This cancellation begins with choir rehearsal, Sunday school and worship on Sunday, March 15th and will be reviewed week by week and we will keep you informed of any changes. We are making arrangements to have a weekly Sunday video presentation by Pastor Dan.
This has not been an easy decision and we know that this decision impacts our ministries and creates a temporary separation for us as a faith community. Let us pray for each other, our community, country and the world during this difficult time.
And let us remember “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble…even though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging”…still “the Lord Almighty is with us….” (Psalm 46).
