November Artist: Rita Wright

Rita Wright received her Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree from Barat College in Lake Forest (Barat College was bought by DePaul University and closed in 2005).

She has taken many classes from esteemed artists and continues to learn more.

She loves to use the stroke work (one stroke) technique. One Stroke painting is a popular and interesting decorative painting technique where double and multi-loading is used to achieve highlights, shadows and color changes in one stroke. In simpler words, it consists of loading a brush with two separate colors and achieving the shading and highlighting in one stroke.

Rita has oil color paintings, water color paintings, colored pencil drawings and used to own a kiln, where she crafted jewelry and wall decor.

Every Tuesday night she hosts a bible study and used to gift hand-painted journals to all the ladies of the group, and she painted their favorite flower with their favorite color.
